The Only Professional Workers Theatre in Finland
The TTT-Theatre is a professional theatre founded in 1901, the only professional workers theatre in the country. The core repertoire consists of Finnish drama, classics of world litterature, musicals and music theatre.
Four stages
The TTT-Theatre has been operating on the same site alongside Hämeenpuisto Park since 1905. From 1905 to 1985 the main stage was on the second floor of the building owned by the Workers Association of Tampere. The Cellar Theatre, commenced in 1965, is also located in the same building.
The new theatre, designed by architects Marjatta and Martti Jaatinen, was built next to the old building. Its completion in 1985 provided the TTT-Theatre with a new main stage. In the fall 2011 we opened the TTT-Club, a new theatre restaurant.
Today the TTT-Theatre shows plays on four different stages. The auditorium of Vanha päänäyttämö (the former main stage) seats about 400 spectators, the Cellar Theatre 160 and the new main auditorium 818 spectators. TTT-Club seats about 240 spectators.
The Main Stage - Suuri näyttämö
The Main Stage with it's over 700 seats serves large audiences. Therefore, its repertorie aims at being
as versatile as possible without eschewing artistic challenge.
The repertoire presents Finnish plays, classics of the world litterature and a great variety of music theatre. On the music scene, musicals like the My Fair Lady, the operetta Victoria und Ihr Husar, the musicals Suruttomat, Marilyn and Vuonna 85 have attracted thousands of theatre-goers. It also is the stage for popular, contemporary finnish drama.
Old Main Stage - Vanha päänäyttämö
The former main stage has a repertoire of plays requiring a medium-sized theatre and adaptation to a 'peeping
hole' space are ideal.
The repertoire consists mainly of comedy, stand up and finnish drama.
The Cellar Theatre - Kellariteatteri
The Cellar Theatre is the experiment laboratory of the TTT Theatre. It is the place for selective theatre-lovers
and daredevils. Many finnish plays have had their first public performances there.
The new Cellar Theatre was opened to public fall 2006. The stage and also foyer were complitely renovated.
The TTT Club - TTT-Klubi
In our new theatre restaurant TTT Club you can watch quality theatre and entertainment in a club atmosphere. High quality theatre technique and revolving
stage offer a place to make a large variety of perfomances. The TTT-Club seats about 240 spectators.
The reportoire consists of music theatre, live bands, stand up and comedy.
10 Premieres in A Season
The TTT-Theatre stages on average 20 premieres per year. The number of performances ast season was 701 with
a total attendance of nearly 200 000 people (2011-2012). The season opens in mid August and closes at the end of May.
Personnel
The artistic personnel of the TTT-Theatre consist of the director of the theatre, stage directors, dramatist or literary
advisors, costume designers, scene decorators and forty actors. Also, the theatre employs guest artist on regular basis.
A career in the TTT-Theatre is a desired one for finnish actors and actresses. We employ only the best. We have now 35 permanent actors and actresses and in adition quest actors and actresses are hired annually. Get to know our stars here.

Management
The TTT-Theatre has been a limited liability company since 1941. The theatre is owned by the Workers' Association
of Tampere. The highest authority is vested in the General Meeting, which appoints the members of the Board.
The main responsibility for artistic management lies with the director of the theatre, who is appointed for a specific
period. The financial director is responsible for finances. The management team of the theatre also includes technical
manager.
The artistic director is Mr Riku Suokas, who started in this position fall 2006.
